Today is Christmas in Ethiopia! Craig and I are still figuring out what our family traditions will be for January 7th. It’s exciting to think about incorporating Ethiopian culture into our home.
These pictures were actually taken on New Year’s Day. We decided to open stockings on New Year’s instead of Christmas so it would spread out the excitement a little longer (a tradition we plan to keep up).
Jaeg thought they should do a silly pose…
Next year we will have 3 sweet children to celebrate with!

I think it’d be great eating a lot more Ethiopian types of food and keeping the tree up through the 8th. Talk about a loooooong Christmas holiday, since it’s the BEST holiday of the year I’m all for it!
Now, speaking of Jaeger and Jadyn here……they just love posing for their serious photos. Man, if they could just add some character into it!!!
Sweden used to also celebrate the 7th or rather the 6th. The day when according to tradition the Magi arrived and gave their gifts. We still get the 6th off as it is considered a holiday.
Melkin Yelidet Beaal! Hope you enjoy celebrating the birth of our Savior today! Love to all of you!
Such a great orders to open the stockings on New Years! I may steal this when I have a family!
Melkam Gena!! “Merry Christmas”
